FAQ'S FOR COMPANIES
We source remote technical and specialty support. Our VAs and EAs are experienced professionals in multiple fields, including administration, finance and accounting, IT, sales, marketing, and operations.
Our business model focuses on connecting companies with independent contractors. You are not obligated to provide them with a contract, but we do recommend that you settle on an agreement for freelance/independent services to ensure both parties have a clear understanding of the role, benefits, and compensation offered.
You will only be presented with fully vetted candidates that meet your role and the company's requirements. We conduct a thorough candidate selection process that includes application screening, initial interviews, portfolio review, and other steps to ensure you meet with the candidates who have the most potential for your role.
No. Across Borders Talent is what we call a "bridge" company. We are matchmakers, and our main goal is to connect your company with professional(s) who meet your needs. We do not manage personnel, we do not directly hire, nor do we provide salaries, benefits, or any compensation packages unless independently provided by the client.
This will ultimately depend on the client's budget. We recommend identifying a balanced range between a cost-effective role budget and competitive LATAM market salaries. The VA specialty required and desired schedule will also be a key factor. As part of our onboarding process, we support you with targeted market research aligned to your specific role and ideal hiring countries, helping you define a competitive and appropriate offer if you do not have one yet.
Multiple platforms can allow you to send your VA their payroll in their corresponding currency. We recommend Wise or PayPal.
We select candidates who either have a flexible schedule or meet your company's time zone to ensure your expected shift and hours are covered.
There are multiple platforms you can use for work communication. If you already have a chat platform within your company, like Slack, you can easily set up your VA within the same platform. If not, there are multiple options like Google Hangouts, WhatsApp, email, or similar.
Yes, we seek VA's that have a wide range of skills from administrative to specialized technical abilities.
Once we start working together, we support in defining your goals and role requirements, so our job postings get tailored to attract the right professionals. Once the position details are finalized and live, we will start receiving applications.
Our screening process follows immediately, with fully vetted candidates typically ready for interviews within 2 weeks. Most successful hires are completed in approximately 3 weeks.
Timelines may vary based on application volume and role specialization.
We aim for success, so we guarantee that you will get exactly what you need. However, in the scenario where, for any reason, your VA does not meet your expectations, we provide replacement guarantees based on your selected plan to replace your VA without additional cost.
Depending on the role and agreements you made with your hire, we recommend utilizing a time tracking software to ensure working hours and schedules are met. This is something that must be handled and/or provided by your company if you decide to make an hourly rate agreement. Some of our customers prefer base salary agreements that do not necessarily require meeting a certain number of hours per day. It's your call!
Hence, our business model is streamlined for independent contractors and freelancers; you are not obligated to provide any legal benefits for employment. However, we do recommend considering certain benefits in your offer, as this will increase your chances of finding a VA. These benefits can include PTO, yearly vacations, sales commissions (if applicable), performance bonuses, etc. These are skilled professionals looking for opportunities to grow and add long-term value. Providing a supportive environment for that growth is essential to a successful and long-term collaboration.
FAQ'S FOR PROFESSIONALS
All our job postings will contain a direct link that will send you to our New Talent form to submit your job application. ALL submissions must be made through this form. We will not review any that come through different sources (like regular email, social media messages, etc.).
Please be sure to read through the job description thoroughly to ensure you meet the hiring requirements and expertise. Additionally, it is important to provide the JOB ID in your application so it gets screened properly. You will find the JOB ID in the job description.
Across Borders Talent is a recruitment agency. We connect professionals from Mexico and LATAM with US and other foreign companies that are looking to expand their workforce and explore the possibilities of multicultural teams. We offer freelance and independent contractor positions that allow professionals to build fulfilling careers, and the best part, from home!
This being said, it is important to understand that Across Borders Talent does not directly hire or offer any type of salary, benefits, or compensation packages, other than the ones exclusively provided by the clients.
You are responsible for handling your own taxes. As mentioned above, we are not an employee management company; therefore, we do not oversee or have any control over your income and taxes. As an independent contractor, you must own this personally or through an accountant, based on your country's legal framework.
Each job will have specific experience and general requirements. Please be sure to read the position you're interested in thoroughly to ensure you meet the role criteria. As for the basics, as a VA/EA, you must have advanced English knowledge (written and verbal), an appropriate work setting (laptop/desktop computer), a headset or similar, and a suitable work space.
Your assigned company will handle everything related to your daily duties, payroll, and work permits. Across Borders Talent will only participate in your pre-hiring process. Once you've been successfully positioned within a company, you will report to and be assisted by them.
Adapting can take time. We recommend keeping recurrent and effective communication with your client to make sure you are both on the same page. If, for any reason, you decide you do not want to continue with your client, you will need to present your notice to them.
We have both schemes available; it will depend on the client's needs and role offering. Part-time roles will typically require a 20-hour per week commitment, and full-time roles will go from 40-45 hours per week.
We always recommend handling one client at a time to make sure your attention and focus are streamlined. However, we understand that one of the perks of being an independent contractor and working remotely is flexibility. If you are an experienced VA and your job allows you to handle other tasks, you can have other clients, as long as there's transparency with them, and you can fulfill your obligations 100%. This will also depend on what type of job you have, your schedule type, and your position rank. You must also understand that a vast majority of clients will not want a VA that's split between 2 companies, but in any case, communication is key.
This will depend on the company's role offer and necessities. We have clients who pay by the hour and others who prefer a base salary scheme. In our experience, hourly based its the most common one.
Job applications are reviewed within 24-48 hours of being received. You will receive an email with your first stage screening results within this time frame. Please note that applying does not automatically ensure you will get the position. In the scenario where your application does not meet our job requirements, you will be notified as well. But don't worry! We have multiple positions and openings constantly coming in.

Due to the high volume of emails we receive daily, your application results can take a bit longer. If you applied less than a week ago, first, check your spam folder to verify our reply did not go there. If not the case, please wait.
If over a week has passed, you can email us directly at hello@acrossborderstalent.com or reach out on our FB page so one of our agents can assist you.
Causes for denial can vary, but the main ones will be:
Your profile does not align with the job offer.
Your application was not completed correctly (Your New Talent form must be completed FULLY. This includes the job questionnaire, contact information, video submissions, and resumes in the correct format). Not completing this properly will result in your application being denied automatically.
You matched role requirements, but other candidates' experience aligns better with the position and client.
You can apply to any job where you meet the role criteria. This being said, we do not recommend applying to more than 3 jobs at once, as this can be contraproducent on targetting your main experience during our screening process and overlap job interviews.
No. Across Borders Talent will NEVER request any type of money exchange to apply to one of our positions. Please be sure to use our official social platforms exclusively when applying to avoid scamming.
Our recruiting agents and clients take valuable time of their agenda to meet and interview you. Not attending your interview and/or client meetings without at least 24 hours of notice, will automatically desqualify you for the selected position and may cause banning from our recruiting platform.
If you had an emergency, please contact hello@acrossborderstalent.com to review your case.
